The F500 will be demonstrated at the Corner Brook Fire Department today. A demonstration will take place in Gillams this evening
An article in the Toronto Sun last week says “Firefighting foams, cosmetics and food packaging that contain cancer-causing “forever chemicals” could be limited or outright banned in Canada following a federal government risk assessment of the products.” The story in the May 19th issue, written by JACQUES BOISSINOT of The Canadian Press quotes, “Environment and Climate Change Canada says in its draft report on PFAS chemicals that there are broad concerns about the risks they pose to both humans and the environment.” Meanwhile, Andre Bourassa is visiting the Corner Brook Fire Department today. He’s here to demonstrate the F500 and says the product is biodegradable and when mixed with water, encapsulates toxins. Bourassa says the CBS Fire Department has started using the F500. He recently retired after a 47 year career as a firefighter and has used the product since 2015. Bourassa says firefighters are really impressed with how fast it puts a fire out. says it is also available as a fire extinguisher for the home. The F500 is made in Georgia.
