No impaired drivers arrested by RCMP on the west coast during the holiday

    RCMP Traffic Services West completed an additional 11 checkpoints at various locations with more than 500 other vehicles stopped.

    RCMP NL conducted targeted impaired driving enforcement this holiday season with a number of checkpoints, traffic stops and arrests for impaired driving violations, but in the Corner Brook area, there were no impaired drivers arrested. On December 30, RCMP Traffic Services West partnered with the RNC in Pasadena.  Approximately 100 vehicles were checked with no impaired drivers detected.  RCMP Traffic Services West completed an additional 11 checkpoints at various locations with more than 500 other vehicles stopped. Elsewhere in the province, 15 people are now facing criminal charges related to impaired driving.
