No tickets handed out in Corner Brook, RNC provides stats for last weekend

    Cst. Cadigan says during that time frame, officers conducted speed enforcement and checkpoints in Corner Brook in the area of Riverside Drive, as well as West Valley Rd at West St., where no impairment or infractions were noted.

    Corner Brook drivers passed the test at RNC checkpoints throughout the holiday season. Cst James Cadigan says among the over 130 speeding infractions found by RNC officers between Dec.28 and Dec.30th, were five operators on the Avalon travelling 50 km/hr over the speed limit. One was stopped in a residential area of Torbay while delivering a food order. There were two impaired drivers and one without a license. Cadigan says during that time frame, officers conducted speed enforcement and checkpoints in Corner Brook in the area of Riverside Drive, as well as West Valley Rd at West St., where no impairment or infractions were noted. Cadigan says overall the checkpoints carried out this holiday season in Corner Brook, Labrador West and the Northeast Avalon found significant compliance and safe operation of vehicles. Meanwhile, RCMP in Bonavista nabbed 5 impaired drivers during the past week.
