Barry Petten noted he has heard from many constituents and other licensed practical nurses around the province who feel insulted and disrespected.

Opposition Health Critic Barry Petten is raising concerns made by licensed  practical nurses. Petten was responding to a proclamation signed by Minister Tom Osborne to celebrate National Nursing week that specifically omitted Licensed Practical Nurses. He says “This is an insult to licensed practical nurses in our province who work side-by-side with other nursing providers.”  Petten noted he has heard from many constituents and other licensed practical nurses around the province who feel insulted and disrespected. He says “The Minister should immediately apologize and issue a proper proclamation to celebrate all nurses in the province.  Anything less is totally unacceptable.”
