Police and Highway Enforcement officers hand out 30 tickets during a traffic checkpoint in East White Hills

    There were vehicles seized related to HTA non-compliance, vehicles removed from the road for non-compliance with licensing and equipment regulations,  as well as notices issued for mandatory vehicle inspections.

    RNC, RCMP and Highway Enforcement officers conducted a traffic checkpoint in the East White Hills yesterday. In 2 hours, they issued 30 tickets to vehicle operators. Cst James Cadigan says they focused on non-compliance and road worthiness. He says there were vehicles seized related to HTA non-compliance, vehicles removed from the road for non-compliance with licensing and equipment regulations,  as well as notices issued for mandatory vehicle inspections. Cst Cadigan says they plan on holding more collaborative checkpoints throughout the summer.
