Premier focusing on school lunches, announcement coming

    Furey says this requires a phased in approach since it requires updating cafeterias and such.

    Now that the 1.6 kilometre rule to be allowed to catch a school bus is gone, Premier Andrew Furey has his sights set on school lunches. In a media scrum yesterday, Furey says an announcement is coming soon. He says this was part of the Poverty Reduction program and NL is leading the country with school lunches.  Furey says this requires a phased in approach since it requires updating cafeterias and such.   Stay tuned for an announcement within the next few days.
