ProtectNL is a group of concerned citizens on a province wide rally to gather signatures on a petition to bring to government. The group is asking for transparency with wind turbine and hydrogen ammonia projects being proposed throughout the island. On Sunday, a group of about 50 people gathered in Corner Brook. Protect NL member Mike Cooze is originally from the east coast and was there. He says there was a cruise ship in port on Sunday and they managed to get 25 signatures from foreign visitors. Cooze says one man from California is actually living in an area with turbines and he recommended not letting them on the island. ProtectNL is on a mission to gather 10,000 signatures to a petition they will present to government. They are in Botwood today.
