Qalipu First Nations Chief Jenny Brake says an announcement of 50 affordable housing units to be built in Corner Brook is an elevation for the entire community. Work is expected soon to be completed by 2026. Brake says the Qalipu represent 67 communities. She says it takes time and effort to get to this point. She says QFN developed a plan for housing two years ago and they have a separate housing team due to the need. She says housing impacts everyone. Brake says they have access to funding that can increase capacity that is so desperately needed.
