This is the National Day of Awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
The day is also known as Red Dress Day.
Qalipu Nation Chief Brendan Mitchell says the plan is to meet outside their offices on West Street at 1:00 p.m. He says there will be smudging, prayer, drumming and singing, poster-making, and a walk of remembrance. Chief Mitchell says these events are for everyone. The Chief encourages people to wear something red or hang a red dress in remembrance.
