Riverside Drive was closed April 2nd after a landslide.
As of approximately 3:00 p.m. today, Riverside Drive is open to two-way traffic. Some lane closures or direction of flag people may be required over the next few weeks as we install curb, sidewalk, fencing as well as hydroseed the bank. Utilities will now have to check on their infrastructure, and the city will work with them to advise of any traffic impediments. Riverside Drive was closed April 2nd after a landslide.

Shutdown at Corner Brook Pulp and Paper coming Monday due to low water levels for Deer Lake Power
A news release from the company explains this is due to low water levels impacting the ability of Deer Lake Power to supply sufficient energy to operate the Mill.
Family members upset after some headstones were removed at Mount Patricia Cemetery without communication
Carl Bennett is the President of the Mount Patricia Cemetery Association. He says the flagstones in question were made by Heritage Memorials out of Nova Scotia, and they were aware of the policy having been supplying headstones for years now.

Premier Wakeham says an independent review on Churchill Falls is coming soon
Michael Wilson resigned from the Churchill Falls panel in May and his letter basically said there could be a better deal on a power agreement. Wakeham says he will release that letter and release Wilson from his non disclosure agreement so he is free to talk.
