The Rotary Arts Centre in Corner Brook is getting nearly $400,000 for workforce development in cultural industries featured at the theatre and visual arts space. Immigration, Population Growth and Skills Minister Gerry Byrne made the announcement at the RAC today. He says this two-year investment, provided by the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Market Development Agreement, will enable the RAC to focus more clearly on developing a cultural industry workforce and providing stronger support to local talent. Byrne says there will also be three artists in residence for the next two years. Jerry Etienne is the Chairperson of the Rotary Arts Centre Board. He says there is an incredible amount of talent in Corner Brook and the area. Today’s investment will provide skills and job development for emerging artists.
