There’s an easy way to get extra money for your child’s post secondary education, and it’s through the Canada Learning Bond. Kevin Green is the coordinator of the CLB with Qalipu First Nations. He says while the Qalipu provides funding for tuition and books, it doesn’t cover everything. Green says the band was able to provide a living allowance to about 400 students, but that depends on funding and the number of applicants. He says the CLB is a federal program and is available to anyone. Green says it’s best to start as early as possible to gain the most interest over time. He says it’s also retroactive for children born since 2004. For more information email kgreen@qalipu.ca
