Scott Lavers of Port Saunders is facing charges after police find firearms

    This included Two high-powered rifles, a semi-automatic rifle, a quantity of ammunition, firearms parts, and stolen property.

    Fifty-five-year-old Scott Lavers of Port Saunders is facing a list of charges following the search of a home in Port Saunders and a cabin in Hawke’s Bay.   With assistance from St. Anthony, Roddickton, Bay St. George and Rocky Harbour RCMP Detachments, as well as Police Dog Services, a number of firearms were seized on Monday ( December 16). This included Two high-powered rifles, a semi-automatic rifle, a quantity of ammunition, firearms parts, and stolen property. Lavers attended  court on Tuesday and is due back on April 8th. He has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000.00, unsafe storage of firearms, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized and Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
