The Status of Women Councils in this province are concerned over the lack of progress on inclusive and proactive pay equity. This after a report was released a year ago calling for action on the development and implementation of proactive pay equity legislation. Executive Director Lisa Faye says the legislation that has been passed to date does not include all of the public sector and leaves out the private sector completely. Faye says the NL Federation of Labour has put out a similar report. She says without these changes, it is impossible for this legislation to effectively build change that will uphold human rights and build equity in our province.
