Tom Rose says Request for Proposals were placed in every airport except Stephenville.
Stephenville Mayor Tom Rose is asking government to reconsider the town as a designated route for the newly formed Heart Force One air ambulance. The town is having a public meeting today to discuss contacting the Health Minister and Premier about the matter. Rose says there is a large geographic area in this province and it makes no sense to leave Stephenville off the map. He says the town probably has the most air ambulance requests in this province and the airport is sitting next to a hospital. Rose says air access is critical for health services and this seems to be a mistake. He says Request for Proposals were placed in every airport except Stephenville. Rose says there were trial runs out of Stephenville before Heart Force One was created and his daughter, an ER Nurse in the town, did a trial run with the Heart Force One team. Rose was an air coordinator at the Rescue Coordination Centre in Halifax where they responded to many medical emergencies.
