The Premier’s Athletic Awards recognize athletic excellence in Newfoundland and Labrador and provide financial support to help young athletes with the costs of training and competition.
Premier Andrew Furey, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, will host the 19th Annual Premier’s Athletic Awards today(Wednesday, October 4). The event will take place at the Newfoundland and Labrador Sport Centre (PowerPlex) in St. John’s at 4:30 p.m. Premier Furey will be joined by Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation Minister Steve Crocker, as well as Olympic Gold Medalists Mike Adam and Jamie Korab.
