There will be a planned emergency response exercise at the Deer Lake Airport this afternoon

    The public may see smoke, emergency vehicles and personnel including partners like the -RCMP, Deer Lake Fire Department, NL Health Services, and Town of Deer Lake Municipal Vehicles will be on site. 

    There is an Emergency Response Exercise Planned for today at the Deer Lake Regional Airport. It will take place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and is necessary to test the Airport’s Emergency Response Plan. The purpose of a live emergency exercise is to test the coordinated response of all facets of the emergency response system in the event of a major incident. Therefore, the public may see smoke, emergency vehicles and personnel including partners like the -RCMP, Deer Lake Fire Department, NL Health Services, and Town of Deer Lake Municipal Vehicles will be on site.  The exercise is planned and controlled and will not interfere with typical operations or regularly scheduled flights.
