On December 1st, trucks will be checked primarily at weigh scale stations for mandatory electronic logging device usage.

Starting December 1st, some commercial transport trucks will be required to have electronic logging devices. This includes commercial vehicles that travel more than 160 kilometres outside their home terminal or temporary worksite, or that are required to track hours of service by filling out a “record of duty status.” On December 1st, trucks will be checked primarily at weigh scale stations for mandatory electronic logging device usage. Meanwhile, school bus drivers are exempt from using these devices.
