Two men convicted of salmon poaching

    The men appeared in Grand Fall-Windsor court.

    Two men have been convicted for salmon poaching after a tip from the public. Roy Jacobs and Robert Ricketts appeared in Grand Falls Provincial court a few weeks ago.

    The Westport men were convicted for unlawfully fishing for salmon by means of a net. Fisheries officers caught up with the men on July 6th of last year and seized an 18-foot boat and motor. Both men  received a $3,000 fine and a conditional prohibition of being on coastal waters for a period of three years.
