West Coast, Central and Northeast Coast under a heat warning for the next few days

    High twenties or 30 degrees will be the high until Thursday.

    Extreme heat affects everyone and parts of the west coast and central areas are under a HEAT WARNING ISSUED by Environment Canada.  Corner Brook’s high tomorrow is 30 degrees with a mix of sun and cloud. High twenties or 30 degrees will be the high until Thursday. Humidex values will be very high near 35. Maximum night temperatures will be 17 to 19 degrees. Coastal areas will have cooler temperatures. A chance of showers tomorrow and Wednesday with showers and a high of 22 on Thursday. Heat warnings are issued when when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Risks are higher for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors. Schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Call HealthLine 811 for advice on health risks, symptoms and precautions associated with heat.
