The WesternNL Food Hub is having their grand opening in Corner Brook today starting 4 o’clock at their new location of 17 Herald Avenue.  Program Coordinator Richard Butt says the slogan is “online store, online food.” He says it’s a way to connect producers and farmers with customers. Orders can be made online between Friday and Monday, and are sent to producers to be picked up on Wednesday. From there, it’s brought to the FoodHub to be sorted and customers can pick up their orders on Thursday. Then the whole process starts again for the next week.. Butt says it’s the freshest and easiest way to get local produce. Butt says they have over 700 customers signed up so far. Today’s event will include live music by Noah Hamilton, catering by Chef Nathan Hornidge of Pollen Nation Farm, prize draws, and more.
