$ 1.6 million dollars was allocated for the first phase and the next portion will be about $2 million.
Work is continuing on the Great Trail Enhancement project in the Corner Brook area. Mayor Jim Parsons says the trail was constructed in the area of Petries Street, Hilliard’s Road and Georgetown Road. The construction of this project started at the end of May. Mayor Parsons says there are a few change orders that were approved during Monday’s council meeting, including the installation of fencing. This phase of the project goes from McLeod’s Lane in Curling to the parking lot next to the mill on Griffin Drive. He says funding was just approved for the second phase of the project, which is expected to go from the Mill east to the Man in the Mountain. 1.6 million dollars was allocated for the first phase and the next portion will be about $2 million.
