Mayor Jim Parsons says the water break is in an area that has not been reconstructed yet. The total cost of the Mt. Bernard Reconstruction is over $10 million dollars.

It lasted slightly more than half an hour, but last night’s Corner Brook city council meeting kickstarted with business arising from the previous meeting. Councillor Linda Chaisson started with a question about the Mt.Bernard Avenue Reconstruction and if there is an update. Darren Charters is the Director of Community, Engineering, Development & Planning. He says there was a water main break on University Avenue late last week which should be open this week.

Chaisson asked if residents in the area could access their homes and Charters confirmed they could. Mayor Jim Parsons says the water break is in an area that has not been reconstructed yet. The total cost of the Mt. Bernard Reconstruction is over $10 million dollars.
