Speedy Glass Red Bag Days are back and people have until August 28th to return them to several west coast locations. All donations collected in Deer Lake and Howley will go to the Deer Lake Food Bank and everything collected in Corner Brook/BOI will go to The Food Bank Network of the Bay of Islands Ministerial Association, Inc.
Speedy Glass Owner Nadine Margeson came on BayFM to talk about how this initiative started when they bought the business in 2019. She says since Red Bags started, around $30K has been raised for the Corner Brook area, $23K in Deer Lake and in Pasadena, last year about $9200 was raised, all of which went to local foodbanks. Margeson says as a business owner, she feels this is her duty and chance to give back to the community.
Bags are available from Genny Andrews in Deer Lake & West Coast Diesel Ltd. In Howley, they can be picked up at the town office and in Corner Brook, reach out to Speedy Glass.
